Our commitment to your privacy

At Contact Freeze, we take privacy seriously, especially for children. Our app is designed to provide a safe experience while being transparent about what information is used and when it leaves your device.

What data we collect and why

We collect only what we need to run the app and personalize features (for example, our story experience). This may include:

• Information you enter — such as a name, age, or other descriptive text you choose to provide to personalize content. Providing this kind of information is optional where the app allows it.
• Technical and usage data — standard diagnostics or usage information needed to operate and improve the app (for example, crash or performance data, depending on your device settings).

Contact Freeze does not store the text you send for AI-powered features on our own servers. That content is transmitted only to the third-party AI provider described below so we can return a result to your device. We do not use it to build a long-term profile of you on our systems.

How we collect data

• Directly from you — when you sign up, use features, or enter information in the app.
• Automatically — limited technical data as described above.
• From other sources — only where needed to provide a specific integration, and as disclosed at the time.

Third-party AI processing (DeepSeek)

Some features use artificial intelligence provided by Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Co., Ltd. and its DeepSeek services (“DeepSeek”), a third-party AI processor outside Contact Freeze.

What may be sent to DeepSeek. When you use an AI feature, the app may send the text or prompts you (or a parent on a child’s behalf) submit for that feature — for example, names, ages, story ideas, or other content you type in to generate or adapt a story. Network requests may also include technical metadata required to deliver the API response (such as authentication tokens managed by the app).

Who receives it. That information is transmitted to DeepSeek’s systems for processing. DeepSeek’s handling of personal data is described in their privacy policy: https://cdn.deepseek.com/policies/en-US/deepseek-privacy-policy-2025-02-14.html.

Why it is used. Solely to generate the in-app AI output you requested (for example, story text or related content). We do not sell your data to DeepSeek.

Your permission. Before personal data is sent to DeepSeek for the first time (or when required by law), the app presents a clear explanation of what will be shared and asks for your explicit consent (opt-in). If you do not agree, AI features that require sending data to DeepSeek will not run; other parts of the app may still be available where they do not rely on that processing.

Safeguards. We use DeepSeek only as a service provider for AI inference and rely on contractual and technical measures appropriate to the processing. You should review DeepSeek’s policy to understand retention, security, and international transfers that may apply on their side. We do not claim that any third party’s practices are identical to ours; we require processing that is appropriate for the service and consistent with applicable law.

Children’s privacy

We take extra steps to protect young users:

• We collect only what is necessary, with parental consent where required.
• Content and features are intended to be age-appropriate.
• If we learn we have collected personal information from a child without proper consent, we will delete it promptly.

AI features that could send a child’s information to DeepSeek should only be used with appropriate parental involvement and only after the consent flow in the app has been completed.

How we use data (summary)

• To provide and improve app functionality and personalization.
• To respond to support requests.
• To maintain safety and integrity of the service.
• To transmit prompts to DeepSeek solely when you have opted in and use an AI feature, as described above.

Sharing data

We share personal data only with service providers that help us operate the app, and only as needed for those purposes. The only third-party AI service we use for processing user-provided content as described in this policy is DeepSeek. We do not sell your personal data.

Your rights
